Craig Marchington began taking photographs as a method of preserving disappearing landscape and street scenes he cycles through every day. Originally from the High Peak, he is now based in Manchester, and this switch from rural to urban living has perhaps manifested as an interest in presenting the blurring of rural and urban environments, land uses and secret hangouts. For this exhibition, Marchington experiments with the possibilities of 3D photography. He has previously created a series entitled 'Hidden Manchester' drawing attention to the unsung urban beauty-spots of the city, emphasised in an immersive and interactive medium. For his 'Aedas Presents' showcase, Craig has adventured his way around Birmingham's canals and back streets, taking in the post-industrial Jewellery Quarter, before winding his way up onto the roof Aedas' own Colmore Plaza, the very venue of the show.
Aedas Presents welcome you to join us at this exclusive preview show from 6 pm - 8 pm on Thursday 6 October 2011. If you cannot make this date, Craig's work will be displayed in Colmore Plaza until Friday 14 October. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a visit.
